Getting here

The centre is in S.E. Co. Clare half an hour drive from from either Limerick, Shannon or Ennis. We are located on a hillside half a mile off the Sixmilebridge / Broadford road. Hopefully the directions below will guide you to us but should you have any problems please don't hesitate to contact us.

By car

From Limerick via Cratloe & Sixmilebridge. (Approx. 15 miles - 30-40 mins)
Leave Limerick on N18 towards Shannon and Ennis. Take Sixmilebridge exit. Go through Cratloe into Sixmilebridge. At main crossroads with river and John Crowe's supermarket on your left, go straight ahead. Take first turn on right (only about 200 metres after crossroads) at the Jamaica Inn Hostel, signposted Broadford. We are exactly 5 miles out this road. Keep going straight all the time, following signs for Broadford. After 5 miles you see the 'Sunyata Retreat Centre' sign. As the sign says, turn right and go 1/2 mile up the steep hill. We are on the left, the only property you can see from the lane.

From Shannon (12 miles- takes 30 mins. max.)
Go into Sixmilebridge and turn left at main crossroads. Take first on right, 200 metres later at Jamaica Inn Hostel, signposted Broadford. Carry on as per directions from Limerick.

From Galway (takes approx. 1 hour 20 mins.)
Go south on N18 towards Ennis. Go through Gort and soon afterwards take turning on left for Tulla. This is a long road over the bog, At Tulla, follow the main road around a couple of sharp bends (you do not go up main street) and past the town. Soon you come to a staggered crossroads. Go right and then immediately left towards Kilkishen , 4 1/2 miles. Just after entering Kilkishen village, take first on left, signposted Broadford (this turning is opposite old forge with horseshoe shaped door). THEN GO IMMEDIATELY RIGHT, only 30 metres or so later. Go past Kilkishen school and straight on for 2 miles (crossing over a small crossroads en route) till you come to a T-junction with an ivy-covered ruined building on the embankment high up in front of you. Turn left. Carry on for exactly one mile until you see 'Sunyata Retreat Centre' sign. Turn right, go 1/2 mile up the steep hill. We are on the left, the only property you can see from the lane.

From Ennis ( 18 miles - takes about 40 mins.)
A) via Tulla. Come out of Ennis on Tulla Road. As you approach Tulla, take turning on right for Kilkishen . Then follow directions as from Galway.
B) via Quin. Come out of Ennis on Quin road. Go through Quin and carry on straight for a few miles till you come to T-junction, signposted Shannon airport to the right and Kilkishen to the left. GO LEFT. Go through Kilkishen village, past Mace supermarket and garage on your right. Take next turning on your right, signposted Broadford (this turning is opposite old forge with horseshoe shaped door). THEN GO IMMEDIATELY RIGHT, only 30 metres or so later. From Dublin (takes 3-3 1/2 hours)
Take N7 towards Limerick. Turn off to the right in Birdhill, signposted Broadford 12 miles (turning is immediately after Matt the Thrasher Pub). Go through O'Briens bridge where you cross the Shannon. Cross straight over Limerick-Killaloe Road, towards Broadford. When you come into Broadford pass school on your right, then take first turn on left signposted Sixmilebridge. We are 3 1/2 miles out this road. Pass Doon Lake on your right, then Dillons garage on your left. Keep left at fork after garage and soon you will see the 'Sunyata Retreat Centre' sign. Turn left and go 1/2 mile up the steep hill. We are on the left, the only property you can see from the lane.

Public transport

There are trains or buses from Dublin to Limerick station and then buses from Limerick station to Sixmilebridge.

From SMB, a taxi ride to the centre is required - about 10-15 mins. The number for the taxi service is 061 369280

From Cork city there are buses to Limerick station, then follow the above instructions.

From Galway there are buses to Shannon airport. From Shannon airport there are also buses to Sixmilebridge or Bunratty, and then a short ride in a taxi.
