Donations
We are always happy to accept donations and particularly are in need of furniture, tools, and gardening supplies. There are many opportunities to volunteer, whether you can offer a professional service or some of your time towards painting or gardening. Donations in kind that cannot be directly utilized at the Centre may be sold with the proceeds retained to support Sunyata programmes.
Cash donations are always welcomed and can be made below using a credit or laser card, or by making out a cheque payable to "Sunyata Retreat Centre" and sending it to
Sunyata Retreat Centre,
Snata, Sixmilebridge,
Co. Clare, Ireland
Standing Orders It is very helpful to the Centre to know that there is some degree of regular financial support. Standing orders are one very helpful way of ensuring this. If you are in a position to make such an offering then you can do so by completing a standing instruction to your bank (monthly, quarterly or annually). Please see below to access a copy of the standing order form here. (doc / pdf)
Many thanks for your generous support!
Dana is a Pali word meaning generosity or free will offering. As the first of the ten Paramitas (qualities leading to Buddhahood), it is the foundation of the Path.
The offering of Dhamma teachings is considered the highest Dana, such teachings are considered beyond price and therefore we do not charge for such teachings.
Retreatants are encouraged to respond in the spirit of Dana which helps sustain the continuity of teachings at Sunyata. At the end of retreats there is a Dana bowl for teachers.
