At Sunyata Buddhist Centre we respect your privacy and take great care that your personal information remains secure.
We will not reveal information about you without your permission and will never disclose your attendance on a retreat unless we are required to do so for legal reasons or by the emergency services.
What information do we collect from you?
Before coming on retreat, we ask you to complete a registration form with detailed personal information; this is to ensure the best duty of care from us to you. Once the retreat is over the registration forms are shredded and completely deleted from our systems.
When staying as a guest you are asked to complete an online registration form with personal information. This will be deleted after your stay unless you request is to keep it on file for future visits.
Who has access to this information?
The only people who have access to your information are the teacher(s), retreat and centre managers and the person dealing with emails.
In addition, our IT Consultants have access to our systems to provide us with the support we need.
Do you ever share my information with third parties?
We will not at any time sell or exchange your information.
The only other parties we use are:
Stripe for secure online donations and Constant contact for our monthly newsletter.
When making an online donation we receive an email confirmation from Stripe with only your name not the card details. We do not accept donations over the phone or process card payments at the centre.
Constant Contact have access only to the details you provided them with when signing up for our newsletter, your name and email address.
The right to be forgotten.
You have the right to be ‘forgotten’, which means that if you request us to, we will remove all the data that we hold on you from our systems. Records of financial transactions will need to be held for seven years for accountancy and audit purposes.
