April 11th will be our first monthly community “Mheitheal” day. This will involve getting together one day a month to work on the development and maintenance of Sunyata’s beautiful grounds. “An Mheitheal” is an old Irish word which refers to members of a community getting together to work in each other’s presence and help each other especially when the task was greater than what one person could do alone.
We will now have a monthly (normally a Saturday or Sunday) day where members of the sangha can come to help out and enjoy working together as a community. The
Soon work will begin on thinning out the forest and the process of storing fire wood. There are also plans to restore the existing gardens and perhaps at some stage cultivate new areas for quiet reflection and growing plants or vegetables.
We are looking for people who are interested in outdoor work such as gardening, planting or just general maintenance. No particular skills are required and everybody is welcome.
