Morning Puja

7.00AM – 8.00AM

Morning puja takes place at Sunyata everyday at 7am. Meditation is in silence and lasts for 45 minutes, followed by about 10 minutes of chanting. Everyone is welcome to join and also welcome to stay for breakfast afterwards. Please note there will be no morning meditation during retreat time. Please check the website for these dates.

Evening Puja

7.00PM – 8.00PM

Evening puja takes place daily at 7pm. The puja consists of meditation and chanting, and is usually followed by cups of tea. Everyone is welcome to join. Please note that there may be no evening puja during retreat time; check the website for these dates.

Wednesday Meditation Evening

8PM – 9.15PM

The evening of meditation is led by a senior member of the Sunyata community. It is strongly recommended that beginners attend our monthly Introduction to Meditation Workshop, as guidance will not be given during the session. Please arrive at 7.50pm. The evening is offered on a donation basis.

Thursday evenings – Sit-and-Share Mindfulness-based Recovery Meetings

8.30pm – 10.00pm (No Need to Book : Just turn up on the evening)

Peer-led mutual-help meeting that uses Buddhist teachings, traditions and practices to help people make a wholehearted recovery from the suffering caused by addictive behaviors. The meetings are open to any individuals wishing to live an intoxicant free life through the guidance and practice of the Five Precepts.

Meditation for Children

Beginners’ Meditation Workshop

Women’s Day Retreat

A day of meditation for women including periods of guided sitting, lying and walking meditation. An opportunity to enter into our own inner silence. Absolute beginners totally welcome. Meitheal – Community Work Day

The meitheal is an old Irish tradition whereby a community gathers to work together on a particular task. This would typically be the harvesting of a crop or the raising of a building frame. At Sunyata we have a monthly meitheal which everyone is welcome to join. Usually we work on a specific job in the forest or the gardens. Lunch and regular cups of tea are provided.
