Morning Puja

7.00AM – 8.00AM

Morning puja takes place at Sunyata everyday at 7am. A period of chanting is followed by silent meditation. Everyone is welcome to join and also welcome to stay for breakfast afterwards. Please note there will be no morning meditation during retreat time. Please check the website for these dates.

Evening Puja

7.00PM – 8.00PM

Evening puja takes place daily at 7pm. The puja consists of meditation and chanting, and is usually followed by cups of tea. Everyone is welcome to join. Please note that there may be no evening puja during retreat time; check the website for these dates.

Wednesday Meditation Evening

7PM – 8.15PM

The evening of meditation is led by a senior member of the Sunyata community. It is strongly recommended that beginners attend our monthly Introduction to Meditation Workshop, as guidance will not be given during the session. Please arrive at 6.50pm. The evening is offered on a donation basis.

Thursday evenings – Sit-and-Share Mindfulness-based Recovery Meetings

8.30pm – 10.00pm (No Need to Book : Just turn up on the evening)

Peer-led mutual-help meeting that uses Buddhist teachings, traditions and practices to help people make a wholehearted recovery from the suffering caused by addictive behaviors. The meetings are open to any individuals wishing to live an intoxicant free life through the guidance and practice of the Five Precepts.

Teachings of the Buddha Course with Nick Scott

November 18 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

This will be held on monthly Monday evenings, starting on October 21st, although it will be possible for participants to join the course at the second meeting on November 18th. We will work our way through the basic Buddhist teachings, starting with the Four Noble Truths, and eventually move on to the more difficult ones. Meditation for Children

This workshop is a child friendly and creative introduction to meditation for children. Children are encouraged to explore mindfulness, thoughts and emotions through stories, discussion, arts and crafts. The workshop is suitable for children aged 4 to 12 years and is held from 4 to 4.45 pm. Wellness Walk

November 24 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

This event is a collaboration with the local 12 O' Clock Hills Project, and will include a tour of Sunyata, a 5km hill walk (or optional 3km flat walk), and an introduction to meditation, followed by refreshments. Women’s Day Retreat

Meitheal – Community Work Day

The meitheal is an old Irish tradition whereby a community gathers to work together on a particular task. This would typically be the harvesting of a crop or the raising of a building frame. At Sunyata we have a monthly meitheal which everyone is welcome to join. Usually we work on a specific job in the forest or the gardens. Lunch and regular cups of tea are provided. Practice Day

A day of insight meditation practice for all those who would like to support their meditation practice in a group setting.
